The Perinatal Information Network

(PIN)

 

About Us:

The Prenatal Information Network (PIN), a project of the Bronx Health link, Inc is funded by the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Women's Health.  It is one of fifteen state funded programs under the Comprehensive Prenatal Perinatal Services Network contract.

Mission:

Our mission at the PIN is to identify and organize information about the healthcare and social services system in the Bronx for the  purpose of improving the prenatal and perinatal health of women, their children, and their families.

Objectives:

Our mission is achieved through the following objectives:

  • Coordinate local healthcare and social services to improve outreach and access for pregnant and postpartum women.
  • Ensure the availability of quality comprehensive healthcare for women that address the continuum of prenatal perinatal health services: preconceptional, prenatal, postpartum, and newborn care;family planning and related maternal-child health services.
  • Assess the needs of participating members for on-going education in their related fields.
  • Collaborate with organizations, coalitions and the community-at-large to develop educational opportunities and resources for community residents.
  • Gather information from the community on perinatal healthcare needs and address community specific problems that may lead to poor birth outcomes and infant mortality.
  • Collaborate with healthcare organizations to establish a consistent and efficient means of of collecting and disseminating Bronx-wide perinatal statistics
  • Spearhead and facilitate collaborations among providers, consumers, community based organizations and business into a perinatal consortium with the goal of closing gaps in services and preventing duplication of services.
  • Gather and disseminate data and statistics related to local and national perinatal issues.
  • Facilitate access to comprehensive prenatal care for pregnant women identified as under served and hard to reach.
