The Bronx Health Link informs and educates the community and providers through our educational workshops, community resource centers and through electronic mediums such as the website and the e-newsletter. To give voice to the community's needs and concerns, we participate in numerous workgroups, advisory boards and task forces.
Our major activities are as follows:
- We conduct a year-round outreach campaign relying primarily on one-to-one contact with community residents and the distribution of brochures, flyers, and other materials through our Resource Centers, schools, health centers, health fairs, and other venues.
- We conduct bilingual educational workshops in partnerships with health and social service providers.
- We sponsor an e-communication network which reaches thousands of members with a daily e-newsletter covering health-related information, events and resources.
- We also conduct community-based research/policy work around health issues affecting women, children and their families in the Bronx, and we produce a yearly community health profile and conduct focus groups, surveys, and interviews of the community.
- We conduct community-based research and house the Bronx Community Research Review Board, that advises academic researchers on how their proposed studies can better meet community needs.
- We assist with referrals to community services.
All services are free.
